Spring is almost here!

Our little tree may be bare of leaves but the Spring Easter Eggs are sure to please! The Lodge is decorated with Easter decor & fresh Spring blooms--come check us out with family & friends, we've got lots of rooms! We're looking forward to warm weather to landscape our flowers & seeds. It beautiful here as Spring appears, we are guaranteed to please.

The Sporting Lodge

The Sporting Lodge, a division of Scenic View Properties is now OPEN!
The Lodge is a 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath home which sleep 6; but we can accommodate a few more on couches or air mattress. With it’s large front & back porch & large fenced in yard, this Lodge is perfect for entertaining. Inside it is quaint & cozy, yet spacious for a group; perfect for a no hassle vacation or weekend in Bloomington. If you are renting Scenic View Lodge and have extra guests, this is the perfect space---just 1/2 mile down the road!
The Master room, dubbed Captain’s Quarters, has a king size bed that guarantees a great night sleep. The attached full bath has a shower & bathtub. On the other side of the house are the two guest rooms with a shared full bath with shower & bathtub. One room has a Queen size bed & the other has two Single beds for a variety of sleeping arrangements.
The Lodge provides basic essentials such as kitchen cleaner, dish soap, hand soap & toilet paper. It also provides hairdryers. Please bring any other essentials or toiletries you may need.
The kitchen is fully stocked with basic cookware, utensils & appliances. Off that, a laundry room is available as needed. The spacious Grand Room shares a large dinning table, kitchen table & plenty of living room space. Enjoy the electric fireplace while playing board games with the family or watching movies with friends on the large flat screen TV.
Located in a neutral location on the East side of Bloomington, this Lodge is a convenient place for any of your travel needs.
The Lodge is just 1-3 miles from Lake Monroe access (Pine Grove Boat Ramp is located just off The Sporting Lodge cross road; Pine Grove, Paynetown State Recreation area is 2 miles away & the Causway & Cutright Marina is just 3 miles). Several local & state Recreation areas, including the Hoosier National Forest & Charles C Deem Wilderness, are all nearby.
The Lodge is a mere 10 miles from Downtown Bloomington & Indiana University. It is a close 20 minute beautiful scenic drive to Nashville & Brown County.
Coming soon in 2009 the Lot next door to the Sporting Lodge will be transformed into a premier Outfitting Pro Store, including a full range indoor Archery Range. A local sporting rental & trip planning space is anticipated as well.
During your stay visit the Sporting Lodge’s sister site, Scenic View Restaurant & Beer Garden (coming 2009) for great food & live entertainment. It’s just 1 mile down the road!

Scenic View had a great holiday season! Thanks to all of our guests who have enjoyed their weekends at The Lodge while celebrating the season with family, gathering with old friends & sharing family memories. The Lodge was decked out in beautiful holiday decor, tree & lights---which made all of our guests feel at home with a holiday spirit. Happy New Year to all of our friends, family and Scenic View guests! We look forward to seeing you again!

The History of Scenic View

This former sign at Scenic View dates back 30 years, when this style of advertising was on every street corner. We think it's great that our Jack & Diane status overlooking "The View" are also eyeing the delicious hamburger and fries. We've since replaced the dated sign with our own; but have kept the historical relic and look forward to using it somewhere as memorabilia in the new restaurant.

And what a View it is! This landmark boasts one of Bloomington’s top views overlooking beautiful Lake Monroe. The Scenic View name has been a part of Bloomington for over 30 years. Now under Scenic View Property Management we are reinventing the space as Bloomington’s great destination place. Our Lodge sits atop the hill & overlooks Indiana’s largest lake, adorns a magical sunrise & in the Fall is one of southern Indiana’s remarkable seasonal views of vibrant Autumn colors. Our Backyard is the Hoosier National Forest, we are only 2 miles from Lake Monroe & 10 miles from Indiana University & Downtown Bloomington.
